WACO — Megan Zwickl scored 16 points and Claire White tallied 15 more to lead the Exeter-Milligan girls past Nebraska Lutheran 65-23 last Tuesday night at Waco.
The win propelled the Timberwolves to 6-0 on the season heading into tomorrow’s Exeter-Milligan Holiday Tournament at Exeter.
Head coach Jackson Krejci felt the game was a good way to prepare for the tournament.
The Timberwolves had an outstanding 26 steals and 20 assists on the night with White leading the steals category with 6. Taylor Erdkamp added 5 and Jennifer Pribyl had 4 thefts.
To provide the flow and liquidity the team required, Pribyl and White each contributed 5 assists while Erdkamp put in 4 and Elly Korbelik chalked up 3.
Every Timberwolf on the roster saw significant playing time, another fact that pleased the E-M coaching staff.
Pribyl’s lone free throw initiated the game and the T-Wolves were off, using shots by Erdkamp and Zwickl to post a 4-point lead.
The Knights netted 1 of 2 at the stripe from Sami Noffke, but E-M used Jackie Luzum, White and Pribyl for a 6-0 sprint as the lead rose to 11-1.
